One of the substantial benefits of using Microsoft Teams is its tight integration with the Office suite. The COVID-19 Pandemic fueled the rapid growth of the product. In April 2020, Microsoft Teams had 75 million daily active users. Microsoft Teams, the elite member of the Microsoft 365 family, has recently hit the 250 million monthly active user milestones, up from the previous 145 million daily active users (the number shared by Microsoft in April 2021). Besides, Zoom offers an extended marketplace for application integration including, MailChimp, ZenDesk, Marketo, and Microsoft Teams for additional extensibility. Zoom offers versatile features like Zoom Meeting, Zoom Rooms, one-on-one meetings, group video conferencing, screen sharing, and recording. Zoom is a cloud-based video conferencing platform used for virtually meeting with other users using audio and video calls. Besides, Microsoft Teams natively integrates with all Microsoft products like Office 365, Dynamics 365, Outlook, SharePoint, and many more third-party apps. Microsoft Teams offers one-to-one conversation, instant and asynchronous messaging, video and audio calls, PSTN calling, conference calls, and a new way of hosting meetings with Together Mode.
Microsoft launched it in 2017, intending to replace Skype for Business and compete with Slack and Zoom. Microsoft Teams is a unified communication and collaboration tool offered as a part of the Microsoft 365 environment.
